Who we are
Wezdenko L.L.C. is an Arizona limited liability company. This policy covers our website and the products we publish, including Spotcraft™. Questions about privacy go to legal@wezdenko.com.
This website
This site is static. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no third-party content and collects nothing about you. If that changes, this section changes with it.
What our apps collect
Photographs you capture
Spotcraft™’s identification feature sends the images you capture to our processing provider so an aircraft can be identified. Images are transmitted over an encrypted connection. What is in the frame is up to you — please avoid capturing people, documents or anything else you would not want processed.
Approximate location and time
Where you allow it, we use your approximate location and the time of capture to cross-check an identification against public flight-tracking data. This is optional. Identification works without it, less precisely. We do not build a history of your movements, and we do not use location for advertising.
Account information
If you give us an email address — to create an account, or to hear when something ships — we store it to contact you about the product. We do not sell it and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.
Basic technical data
Our servers record ordinary request information such as app version, device type, coarse region and error diagnostics, so we can keep the service working.
Photographs, and what we may do with them
There are two separate licences, and they cover different things. One is about the training collection. The other is about publishing your work. Neither implies the other.
The corpus licence — images and video for the training collection
This grants us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free and non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, modify and create derivative works from the images and video you contribute, for training machine-learning models and for use in the product. It is the same licence however you contribute. How we ask depends on which tool you are using:
- The capture tool — accepting it is required. That tool exists to contribute photographs to the collection; contributing is what using it means.
- The Spotcraft™ app — optional, off by default, asked at the time of capture. Identification does not need us to keep your image, so we do not require the licence in order to identify an aircraft for you. Declining costs you nothing and identification works exactly the same.
Whichever route you came by:
- We never apply it retroactively. Photographs captured before you accepted it do not enter the collection.
- You confirm the work is yours. We ask because a photograph belongs to whoever took it. An image submitted by someone who did not take it cannot lawfully sit in this collection, and we would rather have a smaller collection we can actually use.
- You keep copyright, and the licence is non-exclusive. Post, sell or license your own work anywhere else, without asking us.
- You can withdraw at any time, through the same place you agreed — in the app if you contributed from the app, or by telling the person who sent you your capture link. The app shows a contribution ID; quoting it lets us find your work even if you have uninstalled. We stop using your work for new training and remove it from the collection. Models already trained are not affected — there is no way to un-train a model on one person’s photographs, and we will not claim otherwise.
- Contributions are accepted only from people aged 13 or over. Contributions from under-18s are marked as such, are treated with more care, and are not eligible for Picture of the Week.
- It does not let us publish your work publicly. That is the other licence.
The social media licence — Picture of the Week
Publishing your work on our social accounts is never a standing permission and never a condition of anything. It is a submission you make deliberately, one photograph or video at a time, on the same terms whichever tool you use: you choose the work, submit it for Picture of the Week, and tell us the handle you would like to be tagged by.
If we feature it, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and publish that work on our accounts and in our own promotional material, and to keep it published. You can stop submitting at any time and nothing new will be posted — but posts already published stay up. We tell you that at the moment you submit, rather than leaving it in a policy page.
That is a real trade and we would rather state it plainly: you get a permanent, credited feature, and we get a feed that does not develop holes. Withdrawing from the training collection does not take down a Picture of the Week post. You keep copyright, and the licence is non-exclusive.
Picture of the Week is open to people aged 18 or over. We do not publish work contributed by under-18s on social media. A permanent, credited, publicly tagged post is a heavier thing than adding an image to a private collection, and the usual remedy for a regretted post — deleting it — is the one this licence deliberately removes.
We will still take a post down if the work turns out not to have been yours to submit, or where a platform or the law requires it. A licence from someone who did not own the work grants us nothing, and we do not pretend otherwise.
Which text governs
Both licences are versioned, and the version you accepted is recorded — for the social media licence, against the individual photograph, because you grant it one work at a time. The current version of each is 2026-08-29. The licence texts themselves are what govern; this page is a summary. Where this page and a licence you accepted differ, the licence controls.
Who processes data for us
We use a small number of service providers, under contract, to run the product. By category:
- a cloud image-recognition provider, to identify aircraft in submitted images;
- an aircraft registration lookup service, to resolve a registration to aircraft details;
- hosting and storage providers;
- an email provider, for the messages we send you;
- analytics, if and when we add it, in a form that does not identify you individually.
These providers act on our instructions. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
How long we keep things
An image you scan but do not contribute is retained only as long as needed to return a result and to investigate any problem you report. Account information is kept while your account exists.
Photographs you contribute to the collection — whether through a capture link or from the app — are kept as part of it, which is the point of contributing them. They are removed on request, as described above. Ask us to delete your data and we will, except where we are required to retain it.
Your choices
- Camera and location permissions are controlled in your device settings, and can be withdrawn there at any time.
- Contributing photographs is a control in the app, off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off again at any time.
- Submitting a photograph for Picture of the Week is a deliberate act on that one photograph. You can stop submitting whenever you like; posts already published stay up, which we tell you before you submit.
- Withdrawal happens through the medium you used to agree — the app, or the person who sent you your capture link. We record who asked and when and remove the work from the collection. Posts already published stay up, as the licence says before you submit.
- You may ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to legal@wezdenko.com.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights. We intend to honour these requests regardless of where you live.
Children
Our products are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to those who need it, and we keep the number of systems holding your data small. No service can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Where data is processed
We are based in the United States and our providers may process data there. If you use our products from elsewhere, you are sending your information to the United States.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will say so in the app or by email before the change takes effect. We will not retroactively broaden how we use data already collected.
